I received a phone call around lunchtime today from the technician at my local CompUSA. As you’ll recall, I had to bring one of my 30″ Cinema HD displays in for service because it suddenly switched off and wouldn’t power back up.

It turns out that the actual power supply (or brick, as I lovingly refer to them as) is faulty, and not the display itself. I didn’t try plugging the bad display into the good power supply, because I clearly heard the noise emanate from the display, and not from under my desk. I probably should’ve troubleshot the situation a bit more, but nonetheless, it’s a still a part that isn’t an easy retail swap.

With the power supply ordered through GSX (I still have my login - thankfully), the situation is on the mend. I should hopefully get the display back this weekend and can catch up on the piles of work I have yet to do. Joy.
