Much fanfare is in order for the great folks at Optical Alchemy for creating JewelCase, quite possibly the coolest iTunes plugin yet and my Download of the Week. Here’s a screenshot:

JewelCase displays a virtual 3D jewel case that features album cover art, artist, song and album information. It even beautifully renders and blurs album artwork to create the rear panel of the jewel case. JewelCase rotates the jewel case in true OS X-like fashion, and it looks great—even on my Mac mini driving a 55-inch LCD TV. What a great way to both listen to and watch your music.
