Just a quick post before I head out. The majority of my new living room furniture has arrived! The remaining item (my coffee table) is still on backorder, but should be here in the next week or so.

I’m really pleased with it. The set is absolutely beautiful and fits in perfectly with my contemporary wood, metal and glass theme I’m trying to carry through the house. The lamps are also a nice touch, and complement the cherry wood nicely. I originally found them at a local retailer who wanted a fortune for each. Luckily, Overstock.com had them on clearance, so I picked them up for less than half of what the local store was selling them for.

Now that the living room is nearing completion, it’s time to move on. The next room to go under the knife is the master bedroom. I already know what I want, and will be ordering it shortly. While it’s slightly over budget, there’s no excuse not to splurge for good, solid design.

I also overhauled my home office slightly. (This is what happens when I get bored.) My desk was a tad too cluttered, and the mini hutch that came with it made my displays sit a bit too high. So, I removed the hutch, rearranged some components, and overall, I’m much happier with the changes. You can see the transformation on my Flickr site.
