I’m excited about the new possibilities afforded by the transition. The change lets me dabble in some new Web 2.0 things (just check out some of the Ajax-enabled goodies here) and provides a much more certain path for future projects.

Migrating things was a lot easier than I had ever anticipated. WordPress is infinitely customizable, and with my knowledge of PHP, I wrote a few simple plugins that help it to behave in similar fashion to my old publishing system. The end result is quite special.

As for the style, I wanted something vibrant and more exciting to convey my feelings and mood. The bright, vivid colors along with the soft pastels in the sidebar work in harmony to give the site a fresh, clean look. And, don’t forget the new, dynamic footer which includes my recent entries, Flickr images and random links! (And, even better, it’ll soon slide in and out, too!)
