As of the end of January, my Pikes Peak Webcam will no longer have a place to perch. Since the camera is located at my office and is connected to my workstation, it’s likely that it will go offline on my last day at Innerwall.

It was my intention to capture an entire year’s worth of timelapse footage to ultimately assemble into a montage, showing the seasons progress from spring onwards. Unfortunately, it looks like that’s not going to happen.

Hopefully I’ll be able to keep it running until my workstation is switched off for good or ultimately repurposed, even after I’ve left. If that’s the case, you’ll continue to see live updates until the very end.

If not, I’m sure I’ll find a new location as majestic as Pikes Peak to point the lens at in the future. The webcam has been a real traffic booster to this site, and has become popular in my office, too! My coworkers regularly peek to see the weather, who’s at work and whether or not their car is still in the lot! It will be missed, but only temporarily, I hope.

In the meantime, enjoy the image above — captured early on a beautiful winter morning here in Colorado Springs.
